Open source is the way to go. So Firefox, with Noscript if you are concerned about security.

Allowing one company supply everything you use on your PC is bad news, ultimately, so I don't care for Chrome.

Am using Chrome on my home and work computers. No ads or pop ups at all.
I get pop ups with chrome but I do like it as its very fast. I think half of Firefox's memory problems are addon related, which is difficult for them to control. They are making some big changes to that side of things in the near future though.

My mate at work reckons Chrome tracks the porn sites you lot visit.

Not sure how true this is.

According to the adverts, you can hide your trail from the rest of the household. But, that still allows Chrome to do the big brother.

The fault was with IE6 so you could upgrade to IE8 if for some reason you are still using IE6 after all it did come out in 2001!

All browsers have security problems and it would be a bit silly to think any of the more modern browsers is 'secure', you should be careful with all of them.

That being said I use Firefox as I use a lot of add ons like add blocker and ones to synchronise my bookmarks and passwords between different computers. So I'd recommend firefox.

Chrome for me... I think it's brill. And the "incognito" window doesn't leave cookies or anything... (not that I've anything to hide, you understand, but it's what I use for cycle chat at work)
