That's what I don't get about giant, I'm a 54cm in all bikes bar cube which is a 56cm. What is sooooo different with giant where I would need an M53.5 = M/L

Giants numeric sizing is of the seat tube so when they say 53.5 = ML it is the seat tube which is 53.5 mm.Geometry here, TT is 54.5cm on medium

I normally take a Large 57 or 58 frame size but bought a Large Giant Defy (2nd hand) which was just too big.
What I really needed at the time was a M/L frame which wasn't available in 2010.
For reference I am 6ft 0 & ride a 58cm Cube & a 57cm Sintesi.
