Inspired by the Foods you can't skimp thread, what are the best crisp flavours out there?

For me it will always be hard to beat the 90 Brannigans' - Roast Beef and Mustard. I've seen there's a modern version but it doesn't compare.

In modern ones I do have a soft spot for a good Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper

Before the pubs opened all day we used to go to our local Joseph Holt's around one on a Sunday afternoon for the regular session, dinner was a packet of Brannigans beef and mustard, with a dessert of Brannigans cheese and chive.

After being kicked out at three it was over the road to Zaman's shop for a few cans before settling down to Brian Moore on The Big Match.

Happy days. 😊🍻

My two favourite flavours haven't been available for many years. I'm going back to the late 60s/early 70s here.

In second place - Marks and Spencer's Gammon. Only available in large size, in a pink packet. Many a day I had one for my lunch.

First place - Chipmunk Oxo . Before you get any strange ideas, Chipmunk was the brand name, like Walkers or Smiths. Oxo was the flavour. These were bought from the school tuck shop (3d a packet) but were rarely sent by the supplier, so finding them available was the highlight of the week. If I could have afforded it, I'd have bought a box full.

Dogtrousers

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Monster Munch, Pickled Onion or Flamin' Hot. Beef are acceptable, but not preferred.

Edit to add: Wotsits have started doing Giants, the prawn cocktail ones are nice.

If this was a thread about snacks in general, then you would have a good point about pickled onion monster munch. I would applaud you.

But it isn't, it's specifically about crisps. And the answer is, as @Drago has pointed out, Marmite.

Wandering off topic... Back in my drinking days, a visit to the corner shop for Irn Bru and Monster Munch was my go-to hangover cure.

But not these lol

Choc ice & chips!
But then I am being rediculous, don't eat crisps anyway!

+1 for the old Brannigans. these days you can't beat ready salted. or scampi fries. I say ready salted because they're really good at not being bad. across the brands they usually scrub up ok

Not strictly speaking a crisp, but as a Saturday evening snack we rather enjoy a bag of M&S sriracha lentil chips with a tub of houmous.

I did like Brannigans. When they launched they did a big promo, giving out freebies in supermarkets, me and my brother must have helped ourselves to a dozen or more packets that week!

Ready salted for me, although I did love Lays barbecue chips when we went on hols to the US.

As obviously taste is such a broad sprectrum with no actual 'right or wrong', for crisps my favorite is McCoy's cheese & onion with their BBQ beef a close second when I'm in a particularily savory mood - :okay:
But with 'savoury snacks' for me Twiglets, no contest - !
