...he'll do for any style!

Do keep up, Teef! Buddy is all very well, but for purposes of this thread gets trumped by the little-known Welsh drummer Dai Young.

That prompted me to look him up on Wikipedia. I'd forgotten this quote:

when asked by a nurse if he was allergic to anything; he replied, "Yes, Country and Western music!"

The photo shows that the guy is clearly a fruit loop but that ridiculous quote just confirms it.

He was a big fan of Bike Radar too!

And there must be a joke about only the Rich Dai Young in there somewhere, but I fear I am out of my depthalotomy...

Bill's mention of Jimi Hendrix is top. He must feature in any supergroup. As for the catterwauling Janis Joplin - well, pierce my ears with uncooked spaghetti xx(

I don't know much about Mozart but I know what I mozlike...and this thread is useless without pictures! (Except my bit, of course)

You could have Robert Johnson if you want some old school blues guitar.

How about:

Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Bass: Jaco Pastorius
Drums: Carlton Barrett (Wailers)
Harmonica: Keith Relf (Yardbirds)
Keyboards: Rob Collins (Charlatans)
Everything else: Chris Wood (Traffic)

And a revolving cast of vocalists including: Billy McKenzie (Associates), Sandy Dennis (Fairport Convention) and Bob Hite (Canned Heat)

Nick Drake you can't really put in a supergroup because he would be really miserable, and go off and do his own thing.

Do you think they'd all get on? I think there'd be some musical differences in that lot.

I tried to make it a varied selection

Supergroups are all about not getting on. I love this picture from the cover of 'Bongo Fury' - this is as cosy as Beefheart and Zappa got. The Captain baited Frank on stage and they did nothing but argue off it
The result, a classic! :becool:
