I've picked up a couple of good recommendations in the yacf film thread from FM. Persepolis and Waltz with Bashir being two I can remember.

Glad I'm not totally useless. I don't do this entirely for shoots and giggles, I do actually love film (and teach about it too) - and I am now on the programming committee for a local art house cinema.

I'm not sure I can think of one 'best film', there's so many I could recommend for different reasons. I'll have a think and get back to you...
