Best MTB for £400-500?

I have looked around and it seems to me that this bike below is the best for no more than £500.

I am enquiring for a mate and have looked around for second hand bikes in the Glasgow area however I couldn't see much. If anyone could offer any assistance on any MTB in this price range it would be greatly appreciated!

BikeRadar rated the Voodoo Hoodoo over the Hardrock Sport Disc. Might be worth a look.

There's a Cube Ltd Pro for sale on Singletrackworld.com that's been reduced to £500. Worth a look at that money

I have this and am very pleased with it.........my 1st hardtail so can't compare but I enjoy it.
I did a 27 miler (off road) last week and it was very comfy (not the original saddle) and it's a lot of spec' for the money.
