Brilliant pics Mike! They certainly bring back memories of few sections In Gabon. I met many 4x4 touring couples either in hostels or on-the-road.If you're a keen book reader this is good http://www.amazon.co.uk/Around-Africa-Bicycle-Riaan-Manser/dp/186842247X it was one of the books that motivated me to ride Africa, I'd still love to return and cycle the eastern side.

Amazing sir, you did well. How long was the planning before the trip?

I suppose a year or so playing with ideas, much of the route almost decided from the Riaan Manser book I'd read and also from various web logs from other's. Selecting best suited equipment took a while, and lastly came the fairly priced expensive jabs.
