best option for carrying a two year old on my bike

just wondering what is the best option to take my son with me cycling. would it be tag along or a child seat? any advise will be appreciated.

A two year old will be too young for a tagalong.
So you have the options of a child seat or a trailer.
I have a trailer for my littlun' and we both love it.

i used a child seat and had some fantastic times taking my kids out and about (one at a time) then upgraded to a trailgator which allowed me to unhook their bikes when it was safe for them to ride unaided.
