Best pannier bags, tents and stuff for cycle touring

The Rixen and Kaul fixings are worth having - less likely to have a pannier jumping off when following less than well surfaced tracks - and prevents any subsequent bad moments - good enough that I never bother with the bottom retention bits on my panniers

+1 for the cheap tents. Have used these for a few tours and simply binned them on the last day. providing the weather is good (i summer tour only), for a tenner, they're great.
However, if i was touring more often or in worse climates/seasons i'd defo shell out on something better. Horses/courses etc.
