Here she is; Yellow 7.
After choosing each and every component I built her up my self in 2008 - just using a local wheel builder. I’ve since changed the centre stand for a rear kick-stand and also now use Ortlieb front panniers. The photo was taken in the Pyrenees.

Looks a real workhorse. I guess after that sort of use you are OK with the Brooks saddle!

I have a Supergalaxy that to my shame has really not been used as it should. I was thinking a trip down to Lands End was daunting but that does seem a bit pathetic now.

You should never belittle your own aspirations and goals against someone else’s achievements. My first tour across France seemed daunting, but after completing that wanted to push my self further on subsequent tours. So go for it and plan that Lands End tour!!

Sure, that saddle now fits like a glove, I’d never change it. Other than being comfortable and no need for sweaty padded shorts, sprung saddles (and seat post’s) dampen-out the stresses on the wheels, greatly minimising the chances of spokes breaking, one less problem to handle on a prolonged tour.
