Hey wise ones just wanted to pick your brains about selling a bike. Now that I have bought a TREK Madone SLR so cannot justify to hold on to my existing aero bike(GIANT Propel Advance 1) Although it’s a 2018 model but has done less than 300 miles since new so basically it’s almost as good as new. EBay is one option and maybe Gumtree? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as always🙏🏻

In my experience of selling bikes, I'd suggest facebook marketplace, and or some dedicated 'Road bikes for sale' pages have been the best place for me to sell bikes.

Several childrens bikes I have sold on there, and a couple of adults bikes as well, with minimal issue, once was a nearly 2k carbon di2 bike.
Deffo post on here as well, and I'd suggest to give a ton of info such as:
Year bike was bought, and model year.
Any upgrades
Groupset
Cog sizes up front, and cassette ratios as well.
Tyres fitted, what size etc, and if they are old or newish.
Size!

Expensive modern bikes (more than a few hundred) rarely if ever sell on here.
EBay or Gumtree best bet.
Wherever you try, you'll be unlikely to get what you think it's 'worth'

Just be aware with Gumtree, you may get timewasters ( ok you could get those anywhere) or somebody who either offers a silly low price or say I`ll pay the asking price but I can`t view but I`ll send someone round to collect. No way Hose ah ! There have been previous warnings of this practise so as long as you are aware. Good luck with the sale.

One thing I'll add- Ebay has the most exposure and is possibly the place any potential buyer looks first (if only to get an idea of price). It is my belief that local buyers will look on Ebay because of the above and then visit to buy. Facebook or Gumtree may also be favoured by local buyers (the 'ideal target'), and from experience I sold a Mercian road frame within hours of putting the ad on Gumtree.
ETA - put it wherever you can if they're free adverts! ;)

I asked AI to show the 'real' me.
Sold a nice titanium on Ebay at a decent price. It depends on what you are up against at the same time. Also don't click on 'promoted' or the will take a slice off the sales price.

I was trying to sell a virtually new wheelchair. In the end I took a photo of it and posted on the advert wall in a local Co-op. I sold it from there. The person came and viewed and said he`d do a bank transfer. I think he was genuine but I said cash please and off he went to a nearby cash machine. He was happy, I was happy.
