that's[/I] rock 'n roll!

It was Peter Grant who added $100 to LedZepp's hotel bill so that the employee could throw a TV out of a window into the swimming pool because it was something he always wanted to do. It is alleged that Peter Grant had booked the band in to the hotel as Fleetwood Mac because Led Zepp had been barred following their previous visit.

That surely is a basic criterion - no-one should appear on this thread who has not been barred from at least one hotel or hotel chain.

I was barred from a Chinese take–away in Bury St Edmunds for ‘borrowing’ their Christmas tree. Will that elevate me to radical folk artist status?

Just so I do not get rebuked (again), I did put it back when asked by a Chef wielding a large meat cleaver. The local constabulary put it down to high spirits, which was nice of them.

Sid Vicious was a bit of a boy!
You remind me of an interview in which Johnnie Rotten was asked whether the Rolling Stones were heroes of his. 'Oh absolutely. Mick Jagger - street fighting man' said the gnarly one, followed by the most derisive snort of derision I think I've ever heard.

Johnny Cash.

Or if you want a non rock n roll star, the man to the left.

Jim Morrison.

Think it was Grace Slick I saw on a video saying the the Doors and the Airplane were walking down a street in Amsterdam in their heyday and fans were walking up and giving them all sorts a bit of dope some acid etc. Whilst everyone else was putting it in their pockets Morrison took absolutely everything that was given to him there and then.

Joe Strummer was cool and understated in his own way.

Got to be david bowie. Because he did what all other rock stars did, took drugs with them, and slept with most of them.

And was different by actually staying alive and making more better music than the rest of them put together.

I think Keith Richards should be given some recognition for his ”mad, bad, and dangerous to know" image from the '70's, his contribution to medical (sniff) research and classic quotes such as "My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared ... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive". This caused a real media and political frenzy.
