Venom.

Not terribly good in themselves but arguably they inspired a whole sub-genre.

Watch some of their shows on YouTube, it's hilarious

Now I know I am slightly older then you... so can tell you that way back in the midst of metal time i went to see the bands very first Hammersmith show in 1984. Bloody brilliant it was too. (Check out The Seven Gates Of Hell on You Tube)

Their first trio of albums Welcome To Hell, Black Metal (this one especially) and At War With Satan are genre defining and influenced a whole slew of imitators. Hey Zimzum I don't need to tell you this, so it's for the general CC populace who will not be interested in this waffle anway.

The Macc Lads. Mutley is a lyrical genius. Albeit a filthy one....
I agree completely....Mutley, Worzel the bast### and the Beater. I have a cd somewhere. "Sweaty Betty" and the rest.

Can't help feeling that the Scandi's got the wrong end of the stick and ended up taking it all a bit too seriously.
