I want others to back her because of who she is. That pushes up the odds against everything else, and I'm afraid I'll be opposing her in the betting.
It's a good horse she's on but there's no way it'll win with her on it. She might have a chance if she went from the front and stayed out of everyone else's way, but the Foxhunter's is half a mile further than the horse is used to, so it needs to be held back a bit.
I just don't think she has the riding smarts in the horsey peloton.

They quoted evens on the radio, to get round.
A lot of the jockeys are concerned that she could fall and bring another horse down with her, they just dont think she has the skills to ride in a race like this. And almost all of them think her horse wont make the distance anyway.

A creditable 5th for Ms. V. Pendleton. I'm pleased she and Pacha Du Polder got round OK, to finish so well is a bonus for her and should help her make her mind up if she fancies giving this a proper go.
