Yeah John, I also was out the door and pedalling by 06:10am, pitch black and bloody freezing!!!
Took my winter gloves with me in me rucksack, but once I get started I really don't like stopping for anything so kept going initially although my fingers were like ice. After a couple of miles they warmed up nicely ( as did ma heid and ears ) and yeah, it was a stunning, crisp morning to cycle in to work.
Too cold for shorts though, glad I had my bib tights on.
