hi peeps, i've heard there is a way to get a network railcard for free by reference of the current owner. does anyone know how it works and is willing to help me out? advice would be greatly appreciated.
Lurk in the corner of the station like a paedo or a dogger, then when you see someone whip out their railcard, make a sudden lunge for it, grab it, vault the barrier with a click of your heels and a "yippee!", then do a Daley Thompson out of there.
Nat West used to give students a 5 year railcard when they opened an account, don't know if they still do... or do you mean acquire a railcard by 'some other means'?
ok, with a bit of googling i've found the following info:
"Gold Cards are Annual Season tickets with a difference! When you buy an annual season at a station within the Network Railcard Area and the origin and / or destination are also in the Network Railcard Area, you are automatically issued with a Gold Card.
Annual Season tickets can be issued as Gold Cards when:
the origin station is within the area, or
the issuing station and either the origin station, destination station or both are within the area.
.....
Gold Card holders can also buy a Network Railcard for another adult for just £1."
so the question now would be - has anyone got a gold card and would be willing to get me a network railcard?.. say, for a fiver?
User10571 knows Rimas and explined it to me on our last Sunday ride.
Apparently if you know someone with a Gold Card Season Ticket they can get you the £1.00 network card
