I am into making my own now. Building up a right little collection of cookbooks. I read a Jamie Oliver one today, but won't pay £25 for it. Library here I come.
Save yourself the hassle CP. T'interweb is a fantastic source of recipes....all for free.

The recipe 10/10

My bad preparation and lack of skill made it 5/10 on the day/table

But I am at least trying. Saw a Jamie Oliver book (something like - anyone can learn to cook in 24 hours) and it looked good, just too pricey at 25 nicker.

Have you been to the Rose and Crown lately? I ducked in out of a rain storm, and had to spend more than a tenner cos I had no cash. So I decided to eat. The landlady is Polish, lovely lady. So I felt compelled to have a Polish dish - I think it was the Periogi. Yes. Served with lettuce. It looked good and I poured on the onion gravy. I think it was the saltiest dish I have ever tasted, and I really had to knock the Guinness back with it. Served to the ambient backdrop of a completely empty pub, driving rain, and obscure, yet cheesy, 70's pop. And I was coming down with a cold. Authentic. Must go again.

I am acquainted with the guy who runs the Westwood with his partner. A decent fella , and I hear the food is and setting is nice - but the place is not really my cup of tea.
