Not with first utility...
I switched to Eon a while back as they quoted me a considerably cheaper price than British Gas, who had just put their prices up for the thrid time IIRC.

Anyhoo, after about 6 months they called me up and told me I owed then about £500 due to underpayment on my account... I was gobsmacked. we are not paying an agreed amount each month, and I complained that as the account is paid by Direct Debit it is their responsibility to ensure that the correct amounts are taken from my bank account... Got me precisely nowhere, as these scrotes have you over a barrell...
Pay me or I'll register a CCJ and cut you off was the jist I got from the knob on the phone.

The worst bit about it is that we switched from them to British Gas in August, and I found out a week ago that they had kept a credit balance of £75 on my account... hadn't bothered to tell me, I just happened to log on to check the account was closed down properly... theiving bastards. got it back now though..

Turns out they were way more expensive than BG... I am now back with BG... you know where you stand with them.

Probably a case of better the devil you know.

....NPower....scum, ended up owing them £400 as they couldn't sort their systems out and every time we agreed something with their customer services their back office would cock it up. Paid them off in the end and switched to Ovo.

They're all the same, really.

hmmm, we've been with atlantic for 2-3 years. was considering switching, or at least looking for cheaper prices (not because atlantic are expensive), just to see if there was any deals worth changing to.

but from the posts on here, i might as well stay with atlantic cos they've been ok rather than jump somewhere and have the hassle and shite that goes with it.

I was with NPower until they "re-calculated" the direct debits - the electricity looked a little high so I went to the website to query this. Finding out how to do this very basic exercise proved beyond me - surely once they have you as a customer then all they have to do is keep the prices reasonable and make sure you are happy with the direct debit level- it's a two page website job!

Anyway went back to the devil BG.

I have been with edf for a few years and they are always polite and helpful when I phone them with meter reading and to get refunds. No pushiness and when a direct debit got screwed up [ by the bank as it happens.. ] they sorted it out in a few minutes. Prices are ok as well, or at least they are no worse than average.
I don't like BG as they have always come across as smug gets with high prices and always have little old ladies as their gullible customers:laugh:

i hate the lot of them, with brit gas pay direct debit - and just leave it a i cant be bothered with the hassle to keep changing suppliers

I had trouble with Brit Gas switching themselves to being my supplier from my current supplier though that's how my current supplier did it in the first place.

I won't bother faffing about switching suppliers though.

Have both Leccy and Gas with BG. And am happy enough. I know there are probably cheaper deals to be had with others. But as op's have said. better Devil you know.
