Hi there,

Just ordered a bianchi pista 2016 (http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Bianchi-Pista-Steel-2016-Road-Bike_85441.htm) and I am trying to figure out what locking system I should get for my front wheel - I am looking at pitlock but I am having a hard time figuring out if its a hollow skewer or solid axle on the front wheel (hub is: joytech JY-165SBT/A alloy, ball bearing, 36hx14G, OLD 100mm).

Any help or advice highly welcome.

Thanks,
Sam

Sorry I can't help, but please post some pictures of the bike when you get it! :bravo:

The pic in your link appears to show a hollow axle, if that helps...but the wheel will not have a skewer anyway, just track nuts, so pitlock type devices will probably not fit.

As Citius said a hollow axle with tracknuts

Thanks for the replies! Really much appreciated.

Does that mean none of the pitlock products would help in this situation?

Sam

I haven't really studied the range in detail, but it doesn't look like it. Track nuts pretty much act as their own locking system anyway, unless the thief happens to have a 15mm spanner handy...

There are pitlock products for solid axle systems but they seem to be mostly aimed at hub dynamo systems and hub gear systems.
