Hi guys!

Do you guys prefer wear bibs to casual commuting to work in ther morning?

I often ride to work. It's about 9 miles very nice warm-up for morning:smile: But in a few months here it will be above 80 degrees and I will be sweating a lot! Obviously I don't wanna be sweaty at work but personally I only wear bibs for a long & proper ride such as race.

What's your preference? How do you guys deal with outfits riding to work? Do you guys bring your clothes all the time?

I didn't mention it! but I do wear bibs when going to work but it's kinda too much to carry all the casual clothes to work so considering to ride in casual.

When I used to commute 5 miles, I took my work trousers & shirt in on Monday & just took another shirt each day.

Since my commute is <2 miles & is all downhill on the way in, I wear my work clothes. I have knackered the hem of 4-5 pairs of trousers on the chainring though!

My office is quite good in that it provides separate shower rooms with lockers so I have several complete changes of clothes, shower equipment and they provide towels. So for my bike rides I normally wear my bib or tights and just shower when I get in the office. Personally I think the feeling of being freshly showered as you begin work is fantastic, but I like to smell good for the office

Is that not a bit freaky? Personally I like to smell good for the laydees :whistle:^_^

I don't know how much to believe this when you have a pull my finger avatar
I of course like to smell good for the women in the office but more importantly don't want to be one of those smelly cyclists people don't like in the workplace ;)

Been doing this commuting lark for over 30 years now, I've always ridden in my work clothes, steel toe capped boots, work trousers, polo shirt, these days I wear a cycle jacket as well, commutes a 13 mile round trip.

Bibs. Anything else is too warm.

I take 4 days of towels, underwear, shorts, socks and trousers in on a Monday on the bus, then cycle for the rest of the week. Shoes stay in my locker, as do old trainers & jeans for dress-down days.

One summer (I think it was 2010) I cycled into work in combat shorts, a polo shirt and a pair of raybans (no lid, no gloves)...the weather was so fine I wanted to feel like I was on holiday (or something).

I wouldn't recommend it. baggy shorts chaff like hell.

I've only got 2 miles each way. I commute in work trousers and shoes, with my trousers tucked into my sock on the drive side. I wear a t-shirt - often with a cycling jacket of some sort on top. I carry my shirt folded/rolled in a backpack and once the sweat has dried a bit I wash and change. If I have to go to a meeting somewhere else during the day I don't push it very hard, so I don't arrive in a sweaty mess.

I wear full lycra, always printed with logos- never plain, even if I'm riding two miles to Sainsbury's to buy a jar of sun-dried tomatoes and some cat food.

When riding to work: I take in my trousers and some shirts on Monday, bring them home on Friday (on the bike). Shoes stay at work all the time. Tues-Thursday I don't have much to carry.
