Hi all
I'm new here! I'm very old at 53 and I've just got in to cycling this year. Well, it's a 'bike ride' to me, that's all. Well, that's how it started anyway! I have a Trek 8.4 and my best average ride is 16.3 mph to date. Not great maybe by your standards. but I'm really happy with my progress and the 2 stone that I have lost to date!
The bike is heavy, it has front suspension, discs, heavy Marathon+ tyres, a saddle the size of an armchair...perhaps I should get a road bike, but it's 'just a bike ride', as I said, despite doing 1000 miles last month alone! I have new pedals, shoes and cleats on order, going to get that speed up, come what may...'just a bike ride' my ass...this is serious!
Oh yes, I'm a Queen fan too, hence the thread title!
