So I've been out in the frozen lands of Russia in Efremov, small industrial town, with approx 1 half decent hotel where I along with my Russian colleague, 2 French customers a Dutchman (every project needs one) and or competitor have been staying. Last night the local steam supply to the hotel was kaput so we had no central heating. In the middle of the night I get a text in Russian. In the morning I ask my colleague to translate and it turns out that it's a message from the 'Home Guard' apologising for the steam outage and telling me that they're fixing it. Fab.
Now, I was the only one of our party who received this text, furthermore I had not given my mobile number to the hotel or any authourity since arriving in Russia. Even scarier ... how did they know I was in the only part of town that had the problem?
Scary stuff .....
