This popular summer sportive, held on the wonderful Yorkshire Wolds roads, has been running since 2007, and we aim to make this our best edition yet. You can be sure of a warm welcome in this unspoilt corner of Yorkshire and, as previous entrants will readily testify, we always try to give entrants a well-run, value for money event.

With a limit of 800 riders, and therefore relatively small compared to some of the UK’s bigger events, we have received some fantastic feedback in recent years, and an excellent review by Cycling Weekly praising us for the standard of the event. This year’s event is certain to sell out quickly so make sure to enter promptly. We’ve also included the ‘Mini G’ event, covering 30km, to enable novice riders and families to experience this superb event.

The inaugural cyclosportive was held in 2007 in memory of Hull Thursday Road Club’s very own ‘Big G’, Graeme Forrester, and was generally very well received by nearly 300 riders who enjoyed the late summer sunshine and occasional heavy shower. We received some excellent feedback from the event that encouraged us to organise other events since, with the aim of increasing participation to a limit of 800 riders whilst improving the organisation.

Four fully paint-marked routes are available at distances of approximately 150km, 100km, 60km and 30km. All four routes have been chosen to take you through some of the best roads in this relatively undiscovered part of Yorkshire, and feature stunning views of the surrounding valleys and vales. On a clear day both the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors are clearly visible from the numerous high points en route.
