I just took my camper van and bike over to norfolk for a weekend of cycling. Forgot my shoes (got spd's). So the bike sat locked to the van for two days.

Idiot!

Still had a nice walk over the north norfolk coast on a lovely sunny weekend.

Get yourself another pair and always leave them in the van (what's the van by the way?).

vw bay...consequently I can't afford another pair....although maybe I can justify it for over winter.

A friend and I drove all the way to Fort William in june to do a 3 day cycle tour. We got there, unloaded the car, and he'd left one pannier in his front hallway, so only had half of his kit. Luckily, he'd managed to bring the pannier with his cycling shoes and tools in, and left the one with all of his cycling clothes at home. We had a quick trip to an LBS the next day and got him kitted out, although he had to share my toothpaste and deodorant all weekend...

I did 40 miles a while back just in trainers when I'd forgotten my shoes. It's ok as long you don't honk or want to go fast.
