Bike buyers

I met a guy recently who works as a bike buyer...we didnt get more than two minutes to chat but it sounded like the coolest job ever...anybody do it? What does it involve ..aprt from buying bikes...I think this was like some kind of import agency...dunno...do the LBS's here buy from a uk wholesaler or direct from the manufacturers? Who are the big importers ?

Who does he buy bikes for? If it was Halfords he wouldn't admit it in public.

Ha ha!...Im not sure really as I didnt get time to grill him on it....but he was talking about Bianchi, pinarello, Willier etc so it cant be halfords.
Sounds like an ace job though...bikes, travel, money....hmm...

Could be a buyer for a mail order company, wholesaler or for a store.Probably not as interesting as it sounds. Did he have any interest in cycling?
