on the look for a carrier for Vauxhall Insignia Hatchback (2012)

the roof bar solutions look great but pretty expensive

any suggestions for a decent bike rack folks?

I'm looking for one for the astra. I've been quoted £450 for a tow bar plus £150 for a bike carrier that can be mounted in the tow bar and £300 for a roof rack, £200 for the bars and then £50 for each bike mount which I'm looking for 2. Max bikes on the roof are 2. Max on the tow bar depends on weight but your looking at 4 max that will fit.

My only problem with the roof rack is I'm worried I forget about it and drive under a barrier!

Best to go to your local vauxhall dealer though. They have the cheapest I have found so far.

I went down the roof bar route for my Mervia from Halfords. Think it was about £220 for everything to carry two bikes.... The Exodus range, not the best but does the job

450 forcyowbar seems ridiculously steep! I was quoted 180 and the thule rack was 50 from evans!

That 'coming soon' Aldi carrier(TUV) quotes 45KG so might be very safe for two bikes.

Get the saris gran fondo! Safe ss houses and doesnt grab bikes by the frame
