Apologies, I know this question has been asked a 1000 times, but here goes, fully supported LEJOG, July, 10 days, choice of 2 bikes, which would be best ?

Specialised Crosstrail Sport Disc
Felt Z85

Appreciate any and all views, cheers

Just carrying a back pack with what I need for that day, as for gearing the Felt is running a 50/34 chainring with a 10 speed 11-28 cassette, the Spec is running a 48/38/28 chainring and an 8 speed 11-32 cassette, big downside of the Spec, is the weight, it is 13 Ilbs heavier than the Felt.

i would go with the lowest gearing normaly..^_^ but as its only 10 days you wont be going the senic route so hills might not be a prob.. have done lejog twice first time solo ctc route in 14 days next was with a mate we did it in 17days with a detour to try and do cape wrath ..imho the longer you can take the better the trip as you can take more of the great country we live in ...(a shame to rush it) just to say that you have done it

I see you own these two bikes. I vote for the Felt but might flip the stem to ease the neck strain on the long days in the saddle and be sure to bring mitts if you don't normally (long days = numb hands after a few days). But if it's fully supported, take both!
