I have a Cateye computer at the mo but the only numbers I can see clearly relate to current speed (and there are only two digits before the DP which is a disappointment) the rest of the information is too small for my compromised eyesight. Is there a more easily read computer out there?

I do not know which Cateye that you have. But I used to have a Velo 8 until the display un-clipped itself in the dark and was lost forever. I replaced it with a Sigma Bc1009 which has a much bigger screen that is much easier to read. It is also a much better entry level computer than the Velo IMHO. The Velo does not allow you to put a total odometer reading in (nowhere in instructions or online) which is pretty crap as it is nice to have this option.
