I'm sore.

Fly in mouth, turn head to left to spit out and horribly misjudge rapidly approaching 'cycle path' sign. Oh irony, you rascal.

Bullbar clips round it, i go flying and, as you can see, my bike gets wiped out. Eugh.

I'm fine, minus a sore hip. A passing doctor whom i see every morning in the changing rooms stopped and picked me up - his car was set up to carry his bike, but he'd left it at work so easy lift into the back of the car.

So... LBS quotes £130 for parts alone (two wheels, new forks). Halford's quote £260. Local High-End Bike Shop quote 'Get a new bike. Right now. That's gubbed.'

Eugh.

Not your ideal Wednesday. I've phoned Decathlon in Edinburgh, they've got Triban 3's in stock so I think that'll be my purchase.

Amazing how something so small can cause so much damage:sad:
On the bright side you can get a shiny new bike:thumbsup:

Ouch you were lucky and thankfully came off better than the bike.

I was on my aero bars, hence the lack of damage. Had I been holding the bullbars my hands would look not dissimilar to the front wheel!

The damage is a gubbed wheel, the back wheel is lodged into the frame, my forks look slightly twisted and i'm a bit concerned about stress fractures on the frame.

Still, shiny new bike! My other half ain't too happy

When my OTH damages a bike or spends silly amounts on his cycling i always seem to get a present too to lessen the pain when he tells me how much he has spent.

I like that thought. Maybe something shiny and diamondy for her to lessen the blow of my bike-buying.

Silly question...

...but why aero bars on a bike with suspension and wide-ish tyres?

That thing would have a very skewed FCN number.

Ouch! What happened to the fly?

Joking aside, that looks pretty nasty - must have been quite a shock?

Suspension was locked out about a month after i started riding my new route. Aero bars were added to lessen the impact of coastal winds on the new route. I scalped 7 folk this morning as an aside.

I was in the market for a roadie soon anyway, but this really has forced my hand.
