You'd get more scalps with this commuter (has aero bars already fitted) ...

Might need to buy the missus one of these though too.

That would help cushion the blow a bit

I saw something similar on the bike path into Edinburgh this morning, obviously abandonded after the crash - and looks much like @Harry_Palmer79 T3 after he planted his face in a ditch at 50mph on Arran! Glad you're ok.

Cheers guys; i've taken the wheels off and had a closer look (muck not withstanding) - looks like a replacement front wheel and tyre, and some new front forks. The rear mech has been shunted out of alignment, but the rear wheel has survived almost intact. All that will need is some truing.

Still, i'll get a shop estimate for repairs before deciding whether or not a Triban 3 is on the cards...

Other than the forks, how does the rest of the frame look (any wrinkling of the paint or unusual lumps at the joins)? (I can't see the picture on this computer) As @Fubar says I had an off last month and bent both wheels and the top and bottom tubes had taken alot of stress, resulting in lumps/weakness

Glad to hear you're (mostly) okay though!

Picture isn't great - the tubes look ok, but i'm going to take them into the shop for assessment anyway. Like i said, LBS had a low quote, Halford's had a high quote and then the high-end BS told me instantly to replace it. Also, reckoned i'd get a Specialised Allez out of them for £550. Meh.

LBS verdict: gubbed wheels, brakes, rear mech, chainset and rear cassette.

Total for repairs: £250.

So... that'll be me getting a Triban 3 then
