My dad asked my advice on which bike he should get on teh cycle to work scheme. He insisted on going to Halford's, so I advised as best I could and he got this beauty:

Perhaps after a couple of weeks (months), with the proper encouragement from you, he'll get feed up of cycling and you can inherit the bike by stealth.

I've done Dr. Bike sessions and looked at bikes fresh from Halfords.

1. The brakes didn't work
2. The spokes were all over the place

Now Halfords aren't uniquely bad, but...........why take the chance? And, while he's about it, he might get things like the saddle height checked
