On the way home last night I popped into the bike shop to put a deposit on a nice new bike. Took my current bike in with me so it wasn't out in the cold getting lonely and could introduce her to her new little sister (are bikes girls? I hope so:wacko:). As it was a wet day again and I hadn't cleaned the bike for a little while I thought I would give her a nice clean when I got home. So out came the muck off and some nice warm water cleaned her up and lubed the chain stood back and thought "yeah still looks good clean". Woke up this morning and what did she do as a thank you? A bloody flat tyre, pumped it up and realised that I had a p****er. No time to repair it as well so had to take the car in and do the repair when i got home tonight.

Is this some sort of karma

5 mins to do a puncture, more to get changed back into civvies.... tut tut.

PS The bike is telling you it's good to have at least two bikes, just in case..........

I cured the problem of my other 3 bikes having 'issues' with the new bike last year (considering the other 3 had been in my ownership for over 15 years) by lavishing new bits on them...chains, wheels, tyres etc.....never complained...only the bank balance did......;)

Your'e going to have to do something really nice for her now, flower or chocolates, or maybe so nice new Schwalbe's?
I tried slime once, never again, only my opinion but I found it was more aggro than it was worth.

You must have a lot of practice then pal...it usually takes me longer....that's if the bugger doesn't go down again for whatever reason.....and you can bet due to sods law and that the Sun in Uranus that it will go down again....for me at least.:tongue:

You need to try the best combination and look into why you are getting all these p*nct*r*s.Years ago tyres wern't as good as what they are now and I think p*nct*r*s were quite common for me.Now it's rare but having a heavy tyre and inner tube on the front and a greentyre on the back stops me somewhat from gettin p*nct*r*s at 4am or anytime.Like I have for myself you have to work out what works best for you to solve your problem and not look on it that your bike it trying to get you back but love it like we love all our bikes.;);)

My combination is good for commuting but probably not so good for a club run.

My bike's are both boys but have similar issues.

Mine are all boys too. You have to use a bit of tact with them. They sulk. getting a new bike is like a toddler getting a new baby sibling, it puts them all out of kilter. And once you have more than two, the ones left behind mutter to each other.
