Today on the way home from a 22 mile round trip, I noticed (And felt) that the chain was extremely dry and needed some grease. As it's not something I don't carry, but own, I made a mental note, and carried on, at a much lower speed.
I changed gear to go up a hill, stood up, and as soon as I did...BANG!. The chain links had come out. 3 miles from my house. Perfect.
So I free wheeled down the hill (After taking the chain off, and putting it in my rucksack) and then climbed off, and began the long push home.
I walked passed the place where I got it, and decided it may be time to put it in for a service (Due to other things wrong with the bike, and the fact I have no back brake) and I was greeted with a long line of bikes all with "to be serviced) wrote in indelible ink on the saddle.
My bike wont now be ready until Wednesday Night
Will be nice to relax for a while, actually.
