just spent two weeks in spalding at the bike inn doing the city & guilds cycling mechanics course great fun learnt loads.
would reconmend this to any one who wants to learn more about bikes
No - at least not through the Bike Inn. It is a two-week intensive course and you need to be there. That means either staying in a local B&B or in one of the two caravans the Bike Inn has on site.
The course s run by Alf Webb, a very nice guy n his 70 s who has had about fifty years in the bicycle industry and who, as I understand it, was the one who originally designed the City & Guilds course. The full course, leading to th C&G certificate takes two weeks. It s an intensive course, very full days, and includes practical as well as theoretical stuff and wheel building. It is fun as well as challenging, and in the evenings everybody heads down to the Red Lion - Alf's local - to unwind over a beer. I thoroughl enjoyed my time there and got a lot out of the course.
