bike is making a low clicking noise... when pedaling

I used to have a bike years ago that clicked when freewheeling... well on my run home today i noticed my bike was doing this, quieter but still doing it. however this only happens when i pedal becayse when i freewheeled it was quiet.

my natural thought is that it's some sort of lubrication issue at the crank but then i know nothing... so anyone have any suggestions where i should look?

Check the end of the cable on your front mech. If its sticking out it can strike the crank as it goes past...

The sounds on a bike can be very misleading as to their origin - I had a sound that I swore was from my stem but after trial and error turned out to be a loose seat fitting.

Best thing is to turn the bike upside down ,turn the pedals and try to pinpoint the source.
