I reproduce without comment the following picture which has appeared in my Facebook feed. It's allegedly in Benidorm but I can't find any other images or mention of it.

I just hope no road planners in the UK see it and get any ideas!!

Is it the colour you object to? Better in blue maybe

What's wrong with it? Can't see how it's any more dangerous than cycle lanes here that are painted on the road to the left.

Looks like bikes have priority over vehicles at least
You mean: *other* vehicles? :okay:

I don't know how well that design would work in the UK or Australia, because the attitudes of the motorists also have to change, from the current assumption that *everyone* must get out of the way of the motorist.

I think .............. I could grow to like that! A lot!

Well worth the hassle of getting on to, or off again. But my urban rides are generally a few miles long.

I quite like it. It certainly stands out, giving a keep out motorised vehicles message.
There's a similar cycle lane in Blackburn. Its only half as wide and the markings are faded. Not only that but it's on a very busy road where the vehicles are crossing over the cycle lane without indicating, and nudging in whenever a gap allows it. To cycle down it would be taking a major risk!
