I like the idea of that.
Sod's law I've had a proper mapping compass in the car for years but broke it and chucked it only a couple of months ago.
I'm sure you have one though, if not we'll get one.

Its is widespread but not a lot of participants, given the number of cyclists out there.

Looks like I might, just trying to find out some info from the organisers. Orienteering is basically using map and compass to get to as many checkpoints in the allowed time.

This one is 20 checkpoints in 2 and a half hours. No using GPS or phone maps etc. Just paper maps and compass.

This is on bikes but it's usually done in the countryside, woods and fields on foot.

Just got an email back from them. It is all on roads so any road bike will be ok.

Organiser might ring me tomorrow evening if you have any questions you want me to ask.
