Hi All
I've been trying to find out about the provenances of a vintage bike.

It is fitted with a usa Sturmey Archer 4 speed FW. 63
Werdermann front hub
The wheel chain is either a triangle or a pine tree.
On the frame, there is a double ram horns
Wheels are 27x 1 1/4 or 32-630
And on the fork, the is a light bracket.
The brakes are Weiman.
Crancks are Williams.
The plaque has been removed.
This for your help
Gilles

Could be anything. For id your best clue is in the lugs and any numbers on the BB.
A pick of the entire bike would be useful.

Welcome to the forum.

The bike looks better than in the pics.
There is nothing in the Sturmey Archer.
The 4 speed were created in the 50s. FW and FG.
I have another 3 Raleigh bikes, but want to make this one my new daily bike.
It has been hand painted.
All it needs are new tires, mudguards and a rack. All I got. And maybe lighting.

Strangely enough, it is the same size as my Raleigh Connoisseur and my Superbe.

The 63 on the SA hub is the year of manufacture. With the 4-speed hub available from the 30's.

Yours is hub geared, the Armstrong is derailleur geared.

Armstrong became Phillips in 54, your hub is from 63.

To check your machines year of build check the rear of your left hand crank. If it is a Williams, there will be a Williams stamp on the rear (sword with EBW) and a 2letter code beneath.
