Evening everyone,

I live in Colchester but am currently at Durham University so i'm wondering what local shops here or in Newcastle are worth a visit?

I'd be looking at getting sized up and potentially purchasing a road bike

Cheers

Or Westbrook, but more Middlesbrough

To note, It's rather frowned upon to use an lbs for sizing and advice, and then buy elsewhere

Google brings up a bunch more, including infinity and Dave heron

Infinity isn't far from the uni iirc I phoned them up once when my cleats broke and I needed to get home and they were the nearest according to google they seemed alright but I was a pound off a set of cleats and they couldn't help me out

Infinity now have a Cube specialist shop upstairs from their other shop, which sells Focus, Ridley etc. Good selection of bikes & still some 2013 sale bargains.
Metro also has Cycle Surgery as well as Evans.

Another shout for KB Cycles.

Also Cycle Logical in Forest Hall is very good. I don't know of a bad bike shop in Newcastle, to be honest.

If you're on a budget or after cheap spares, check out http://www.recyke-y-bike.org

If you go the Halford's route for stuff, swerve the one in the city centre. Team Valley and Silverlink branches are much better.

As for a proper shop, KB Cycles or Cycle Logical is your best bet.

Was gonna suggest Strawberry Cycles in Peterlee but it's a roadie you're after so never mind!
