Hi

Our son is 4 and has ridden a Choc 14 small for over a year now. He's well balanced and has mastered brakes and can cycle 8 miles without difficulty. He's ready for gears as his little legs are whizzing away. Does anyone know of any options for smaller children that include gears. I fear he won't have a large enough inside leg until he's 6 or 7 as he is very small for his age. He is 94cm tall and has a 37cm inside leg.

Thanks. Paul

Smallest Islabike with gears is a 20 which requires a 48cm inside leg. Same with the Frog 48.

Let him whizz, nothing wrong with a fast cadence for youngsters. The other option is to have a geared hub fitted to the rear wheel of any bike you fancy, may need a bit of adapting, but most things are possible.

As said above most bikes dont start with gears till you get to a 20 " wheel die to the deraillier needing a certain height above the ground so it works and doesnt get mashed on the road.
