Are there any extra charges - customs VAT etc - when buying from them?
Never rely on a seller to give you accurate or honest customs info. If in doubt, check the relevant HM Gov Revenue & Customs advice pages: https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...tice-143-a-guide-for-international-post-usersAre there any extra charges - customs VAT etc - when buying from them?
Goods value | Customs charges applicable |
---|---|
£0.00 to £135 | No Customs Duty No Import VAT |
£135.01 and greater | Customs Duty due, Import VAT due |
Wrong BikeInn - OP is referring to the company based in Europe that seels cycling stuff. Alf Webb's Bike Inn is a training organisation no longer owned by Alf as he retired - it is now based up in Appleby Cumbria run by John ColborneView attachment 635555
This does not answer the question I know but this is my Alf Webb. Alf founded the bike inn. I've not seen any other of his frames.
That certainly works with a total order excl shipping is <£135.
If its over that I thought it was very complicated to achieve that and duty was paid by recipient.
Mantel (based in NL) site by comparison
Maybe message and ask them? Are there any extra charges - customs VAT etc - when buying from them?
In that case the answer to your question (according to HMRC) is no, there's no duty or customs charge to pay.I was confused by that too - hence my question. Value is well under £135
