Following the transfer of the Caledonian Sleeper service from Scotrail to Serco, there are revised conditions for cycle carriage. The new company appears to be taking a more enlightened view regarding bikes on the sleeper and the problem of severe restriction on the Inverness to London cycle capacity caused by the carriage of fresh shellfish in the goods compartment would appear to have been overcome.

Unfortunately the Serco telephone booking system has been just about impossible to connect with (almost permanently engaged) since inception, but they do promise to get this sorted out:rolleyes:.

I think the pick-up times at Inverness for some people might cause problems if they intend to travel on using the Bike bus to Durness. I know when Scotrail run the service, it was one rush from when the train arrived and getting round to the Bus stop.
