Not only seen in Sheffield but also in Brighton, a few people have asked me "you're a cyclist, what's all this about" mentioning bikes all completely wrapped in blue and white paper locked up to railings etc

At first I thought they meant all-white and assumed someone had seen a "ghost bike" but no, these are wrapped in kind of coloured streamers

I'd think it was something local apart from the one seen by a colleague in Brighton at the weekend

ANyone any idea what its all about?

(Sorry, thought I was posting in General Cycling...mods please move if you see fit - thanks)

Saw one last week in Oxford

I've seen one in Tottenham Court Road in London. I thought it was some sort of ad; the wrapping is covered in some text I think, but I can't recall what it read.
might be to hide the make of the bike so thief’s don't nick it.
If that were the case I doubt they would wrap the wheels as in the one I saw

It's never too early to get those special Christmas presents wrapped and ready to give!

Before you know it, it will be August and the shops will be full and all the best presents will have gone.

Is this one? Opposite Time Out offices on TCR. I took this a few weeks back - if it's still there i'm amazed it hasn't been hauled away by Camden Council. Looks like a decent utility bike under all that DC skatewear tape.

My guess is that it's some sort of viral campaign. As such it should be ignored at all costs.

Ah, good bit of sleuthing..

I daresay it's also to get people asking "what's all those blue and white wrapped bikes about anyway"
