England : Essex Billericay-ish Saturday 5th Oct- At a loose end

Right, Mrs D is planning on taking the diglets to the In-Laws on Saturday leaving me at a loose end. My riding has dropped off in the last month or so (for a number of reasons) so I was going to have a quiet pootle through the lanes of Essex . Thinking about a couple of hours/30miles road or alternately (as I have just picked up the winter N+1 entry level hard-tail) even a bit of gentle offroading.
As my route planning decsion making leaves a lot to be desired, is anyone else interested in a leisurely run out? Happy to chuck the bike in the car if slightly further afield.

I'd be interested in that diggs as billericay is only a few miles away from me.
Haven't been out on the bike for a week as i have had a heavy cold so a quiet pootle for a couple of hours/30ish miles would suit me fine.
It would have to be in the morning though as i need to be home by midday.
