Was it at the bottom of the glass?

It was before the glass but after the Crendon Morris men, a fine show - mummers play, plenty of dancing (not by me) and singing and also four accordians together, known as the 'Crendon wall of sound'

I have some Pipistrelle bats in the eaves of my house. They nest there every year. They do no damage so I leave them be. They are fantastic flyers, and it is very entertaining watching them fly about feeding at dusk.

Okay, not exactly in the back garden, but less than 2 miles away, the Ospreys are back from Africa, saw 3 of them yesterday, 5 back altogether awesome sight.

Saw one on a ride a couple of years ago near Peterborough. They're very occasionally seen high high over peterborough, probably headed from Rutland Water toward the Nene Washes. The one i saw was perched in a tree a few hundred yards away from the road...fabulous sight. I started taking a small pair of binoculars after that, but of course, if your carrying, you never see anything worth getting them out.

You may have seen this already, but this site tracks migrating ospreys (via micro GPS tracking). I've been following 3 or 4 individuals for a few years now and they seem like old friends! Ospreys
Click on the individual birds on the left for the latest. One, called Nimrod, is still sauntering his slow way back over Senegal.

I saw my first sand martins of spring yesterday and willow warblers. Plenty of chiff chaffs back now too. I'm slightly annoyed that a pair of blue tits have occupied my artificial house martin nest on the eaves, but better than nowt I guess.
