i think the blue tits are just knackered when they sit in the road. they are fledglings just out of the nest.

i look forward to journeys on the m40 nr wycombe/beaconsfield as i get to see the red kites introduced there in the 80's.
Been used to seeing them in spain nr salamanca area. Nice to know they have settled here.

We had one regularly over the A64 around Huttons Ambo, near Malton, for a couple of years. It seems to have gone now. Not all farmers and keepers like them - some still believe they take lambs - so I suspect it might have encountered a few shotgun pellets.
