To all Birdy enthusiasts:

I’m currently getting my Birdy III ready for touring next season.
Has anyone here had any experience with the Muqzi mounting block and bracket for the head tube shown below, combined with a Newboler rear rack? All available on AliExpress.
I’m also looking for a frame bag and a top tube bag. Due to the slight upward angle of the top tube towards the seat tube, and the diagonal support underneath it running down to the bottom bracket, finding suitable bags isn’t easy.
I’d be happy to read your tips and recommendations!
Many thanks!
Gregorio

Hi Gregorio, my Birdy has had a few luggage options in the past:

I have a frame top tube bag designed to sit on top of the frame spine what I found was it tended to move sideways so I used some double sided tape just to hold it in place. 👎

The under frame bag in your photo works well and I prefer it to the top frame bag as it stays in place. I got the Birdy labelled bag from AliExpress as it was out of stock at the official Birdy outlets. 👍

My Birdy has the rear rack which is an excellent luggage rack and highly recommended if you don't have one! 👍

When I bought my Birdy the previous owner had just done a touring holiday in Italy with it so it was fitted with front pannier mounts on the front fork so that is an option worth investigating - theres a lot more Birdy kit available in the Far East where they are very popular!

That front mount does look substantial and I would certainly try it, I have found Birdy accessories to be very good quality. 👍

I have found my Birdy to be very stable and comfortable to ride, I am lightweight and have just sourced a softer suspension block for the rear,

Hope this helps and I am looking forward to seeing how it looks in full touring trim.

Found a very poor quality photo but you can get an idea about the front pannier rack if you zoom in - and squint!
