As I never pay for car parking in Brum, I have no idea, if you park 2-3 mins walk outside Brum centre it's free.

Car parks are pretty much the same as each other. Similarly with charges.

You'll have 'fun' driving in Birmingham. I've hated every minute of the driving and motor cycling that I've done in Birmingham over the past three decades. I catch the train in and walk whenever I've got to be in central Birmingham. It's a lot less hassle.

Brum can be a bit of a jungle. It might be worth considering driving to a station and getting the train in. In fact... bescot is just off junction 9 of the m6 and a return ticket will be about the same cost as a few hours parking.

I have to drive into Birmingham every December for a conference, I hate the place. Don't mean to put you off but it's a God awful place to drive into, around and out of!

Yup, catch the train in if you can. Unless you know EXACTLY where you're going and which lane you need to be in you can end up going round and round in random circles, being able to see where you want to be but not able to get there. And having impatient drivers around you during the day just makes things worse.
I drove all round Colmore row / snow hill area in a huge circle this evening cos i couldn't work out how to get on to the A38. Turns out you can only turn left on to it from specific streets......
Avoid driving in our lovely city centre if you can!

Birmingham City Cycles closed down last year. Sprocket Cycles is on Allison Street and Onyourbike on Bradford Street.
