I had a tetanus jab last April so i'm ok there. I put some TCP on the tooth mark, I didn't fancy a 5 hour wait in A and E for them to do that for me.

Just dont go back there then.
If you are self employed it is easy, if not, just tell your employer that you were bitten by a dog.

It'd be a pity to stop going as i've been going there for nearly 12 years and i haven't had a problem until the dog appeared the other month with the house owners new boyfriend.. Trouble is the dozy boyfriend might say he'll lock it up but he's said that before and it's still got out. I'll see how i feel when i'm back in that area in a fortnight. I'm not putting myself at risk for the sake of a fiver.

What if the next attack is on a child? Your thigh level bite is probably about head/face scarring for life, or worse, on a kid!

I read all your knee jerk statement. All dogs are hunters would have been a more accurate statement. Albiet meaningless drivel.

I don't want to go back and have it happen again. The owner is that dozy he'll probably let it out the next time i'm there which is my main worry. If i know its locked inside then i'll be happy,but i think it'll attack someone else. It's more a question of when not if.

In all honesty then, if that is what YOU want, then I would suggest...

Visit the owner. Explain exactly that. Explain that you have considered reporting the matter to the police, but all you actually want is that guarantee it won't happen again. If he's then amenable, work something out. Perhaps you could knock the front door before going round the back of they are in - and I assume the dog is always in if they are out?

He may not wish to listen, he may react badly. You then have your own decision as to simply lose him as a customer, or to report him to the police and claim compensation, or both.

I was assaulted by a black lab on Thursday while I was running. Owner too busy on the phone to control his dog.

It wasn't serious, just a couple of scratches , just surprised it happened. Dogs usually don't go that far with me, usually just a charge and back off.

Both. It will help concentrate his mind on being a better dog owner. Probably by having the dog rehomed.
