There's a road called just, "The Hornet", in Chichester, weird name! There are a few street names like that round Chichester, in as much as there is no suffix (like, "road", "street", "way", etc). So there are names like "St Cyriacs" and "Pallant".

On the route down to Hamble-le-Rice there's "Jurd Way". If I could be bothered, I'd cycle there in the middle of the night and paint out the bottom hook of the "J"

There's a Butts Rd in Southampton (probably something to do with archery in Ye Olde Days).

Yes - K36/10

Logical explanation, until you see the road (about 2km long) which has just one farm on and nothing else....this place is in the middle of nowhere.

I know Cut Throat lane very well as a regular user of the Earlswood Craft Centre, its also on my route to the Licky Hills, I've always wondered if it held any grisly secrets, perhaps a connection with highway men somewhere?

Cropredy near Banbury has Cup And Saucer Lane, Creampot Lane and Creampot Close. Tiddington on the outskirts of Stratford Upon Avon has Kissing Tree Lane and Kissing Tree Way.

I've been to a factory in Croydon on a road called "Vulcan Way" - amongst other things they made parts that go in to satellites.
On Wednesday I rode up Titsey Hill and through Pratt's Bottom and then home via Jackass Lane
edit: forgot to say, that ride also included Rabies Heath Road, Godstone.

Grimsby, itself fairly descriptive has a Grime Street.

I mentioned I came from Grimsby to a Danish flatmate. He laughed, apparently it still means 'Ugly Town' in modern Danish.

(ofc it's founded by the Danes, but I think in the Old Norse the intended meaning is "Grimr's Town")
